Hey — I'm Chris, the person behind Bryn. I built this app because I wanted better nutrition tracking, not because I wanted your data. Here's exactly what we collect, what we don't, and why.
What we collect
Email (waitlist only)
If you sign up for the waitlist, we store your email in Cloudflare KV. We'll only use it to email you about the Bryn launch. You can unsubscribe anytime.
Food log entries
Your food log lives on your device by default. If you create an account and opt into cloud sync, your data is stored in Supabase (US East). You can delete your account and all associated data at any time — no hoops, no waiting period.
Device info
We collect basic device info for crash reporting so we can fix bugs. That's it — no behavioral tracking, no usage analytics.
What we DON'T collect
No tracking. No analytics. No ads. No selling your data to anyone. Ever. This isn't a data company — it's a nutrition app.
Third-party services
- USDA FoodData Central — read-only food database. We query it to match your food entries. No personal data is sent.
- Open Food Facts — barcode lookup database. We send the barcode number only, nothing personal.
- Whisper (speech recognition) — runs on our server. Your audio is processed in real-time and not stored. We don't keep recordings.
Your rights
You own your data. You can export it, delete it, or close your account whenever you want. If you have questions about your data, just email me.
